A journey of a lifetime.
It is impossible to describe all the sights and sounds of our trip. Fr. Rector, Ms. Gulapi & Mr. Sajid Ahmed who accompanied the boys enjoyed these unforgettable moments in their journey.
ALEXANDRIA PORT city. A very clean city on the edge of the impossibly blue and green Mediterranean sea-the summer capital of Egypt. Pompey pillar – where we saw our first sphinx. Catacombs- Underground burial tombs.
CAIRO : A beautiful Egyptian belly dancer. Citadel of Saladin and the mosque of Md. Ali. Cairo museum – it would take about nine months for one person to see all the artifacts inside, grand exhibit of the Tomb of Tutankahmun – His chariot covered by thin gold sheets of 18 carats, the gold room having the beautifully decorated death mask of king Tutankhamun (pure gold of 11kgs).
Evening at the pyramids a fantastic sound and laser light show. The sphinx and the pyramids of Giza,
inside the pyramid.
MEMPHIS – statue of Ramses II and the alabaster sphinx at Memphis (old Egyptian capital)
ASWAN – Aswan dam and the High Dam, Philae (elephant shaped rock) temple- one of the innumerous temples in Egypt.
ABU SIMBEL- night journey near the Sudan border, beautiful and massive temple dedicated to Ra.
KHOM OMBO – Cleopatra, the only temple to have a carving of her- she was beautiful.
NIGHT VISITÂ temple of EDFU.
ON THE NILE CRUISE – the Esna Lock
LUXOR- the biggest temple complex in the world-Karnak. Luxor temple, where one obelisk at the entrance had been cut and gifted to the French by the Egyptian ruler, Md. Ali- the columns built by Alexander the great.
VALLEY OF THE KINGS and the temple of queen Hatshepsut. GREAT KHAN EL-KAHALILI MARKET in Cairo. Mr. Kawal Oberoi, North Pointer who treated us for lunch at his Karvin hotel in Cairo.

Around 40 boys accompanied by Fr. Rector, Ms. Gulapi and other escorts went on this Silk Route where they visited the following places.
BEIJING – the biggest public square in the world; Tiananmen Square. Silk factory
Forbidden City. It is the imperial palace for 24 emperors during Ming and Qing Dynasties and the biggest ancient architecture complex in the world. The martial art show. The Jade factory. The Great Wall at Juyong pass which is the symbol of China .
